In Dec 2106, Graham was made homeless after encountering problems with his then house mate. Finding himself in a homeless unit, his next step was to be moved in to a shelter – a prospect that he was not looking forward to.

Suffering from mental illness, Graham had already tried to commit suicide three times in one year and depression and anxiety was getting the better of him. However, at the homeless unit he met a representative from Durham’s Handcrafted homeless charity who offered him not only a home but counselling and follow up support.

He was placed in to one of Ann Marie’s properties with a new house mate and was able to build a new life. He explains....

“If it wasn’t for Handcrafted, I would be dead. Through their support I have been given a new opportunity. I am no longer suicidal – I enjoy life!”
